In 2007, seeking an opportunity to create and support intuitive and outcome-orientated software solutions, Steven and Alison Tye founded Tyeware. Now, after 18 years of innovation in the VET, water, irrigation, mining and agricultural sectors, we close our doors on this amazing journey, after the sale of our flagship Telemex product to Aquamonix.
Steven Tye will support Aquamonix with the Telemex product, as well as pursue new opportunities in software and product development, with a continued focus on the IoT and smart metering space, in addition to developing his writing interests. Alison Tye will continue in the operation of Awaken Retreats as a qualified spiritual director, author and retreat coordinator.
The Tyeware team has had many professional successes. Perhaps the most pertinent has been the development of ground-breaking "MiWater" and "myH2O" smart water metering solution for Mackay Regional Council, a project that won the 2016 International Water Awards Project Innovation Award. As a result of our innovation and collaboration, gigalitres of potable water have been saved across Australia, saving water customers and water utilities millions of dollars.
And yet, what we are most proud of has been the relationships we have nurtured. Within Tyeware, our success has only been possible by cultivating a culture built around innovation, teamwork, excellence and respect. Beyond this, our best work has always been with clients that allowed us to collaborate, being more than just a contractor, but a strategic partner. We have always considered profitability as the by-product of quality software and empowered customers, and it has been a privilege to have empowered our amazing customers for the last 18 years.
We have had some amazing staff during this time, who will all move on to new opportunities to improve the world one line of code at a time. We are proud to have played a part in the development of the software industry within the Mackay Region and to leverage local innovation to Australian and International clients.
